A Perfect weekend to celebrate Mother's Day with your mom? Or perhaps you'd rather surprise her with a weekend away with her closest girlfriends. Consider booking a cottage at Coppertree Resort for a wine tasting and hiking retreat. Coppertree Resort is just steps away from the James Cooper Lookout Trail which is just one of many great hiking trails in the immediate area. There are also some lovely restaurants nearby. The Girls Spring Fling is a great mix of adventure, relaxation, bonding and culture. Friday May 9 to Sunday May 11. Book now. Limited spots available.
Arrive at the resort, check-in and get settled
Catch up and if you like, you can come out to the campfire and meet some of the other girls and just generally relax.
Sleep in! It was a late night catching up with the girls
Perhaps a run into town for breakfast. Some of our favourites: The Mill Pond is a short drive up the road and there are some really lovely restaurants in Haliburton too: Hook, Line & Sinker; Maple Avenue Tap & Grill; Kozy Korner. Or if you prefer to just hang out with your gal pals, bring your supplies and cook your own breakfast. Your cabin is fully equipped with a fridge, stove and all the necessary utensils and dishes. Foodland or Todd's Independent are in Haliburton, or Value-Mart and Foodland in Minden, as well as some other smaller markets if you need to pick up supplies for breakfast or dinner.
After breakfast would be a great time for a hike - The James Cooper Trail is just steps from the resort. The trail is 1.8-km out-and-back and is considered a moderately challenging route and takes an average of 45 - 60 min to complete. At the top you'll look out over Algonquin Highlands including The Coppertree Resort. There are many hiking trails in the area, click here for more.
We also have kayaks, peddle boats, canoes for loan.
And then the main event - A Wine Tasting in the Rec Hall with Leah-Anne Austin of Poured & Paired. Leah-Anne has over 30 years in the alcohol industry and a wealth of experience and expertise to help guide you through this fun wine tasting and charcuterie event.
Back to your cabins to create your own leisurely meal for your group. Again, your cabin includes a fully stocked kitchen. You just need to bring the food and fixins,
Early May can still be a bit chilly in the evening, so put on your woolies and get back out for another campfire and some libations where you can all tell lies and share your experiences with the other girls.
No need to rush out. There will be coffee and a continental breakfast in the Rec Hall .
Then back to your cabin to pack up and say your goodbyes.
It's been great catching up with the girls, so get your calendars out and let's book you in for next year's Girls' Spring Fling.
